Tacita Desktop

Your hardware.
Your encryption.

Pair your phone over an encrypted Bridge. Heavy chat and image generation run on your computer's GPU. Public alpha for Linux and Windows. macOS coming soon.

Free. Open source under MIT. LAN-only pairing.

Why Bridge

Built for your home network.

The phone is sharp, the desktop is heavy. The Bridge keeps both private and in sync without ever calling a server.

Pro + Bridge — €39.99

Image generation, on your own GPU.

Tacita Desktop runs SD, SDXL, and Flux locally on your computer; the encrypted Bridge streams the result to your phone — chat-side gen, persona avatars, anything you ask for. No server in the loop.

  • Your GPU, not ours

Models run on the desktop you already own.

  • Encrypted on the wire

Same Noise transport that protects your chat.

  • Zero plaintext spill

Desktop overwrites the temp PNG before deleting.

SD 1.xSDXLFluxLoRAs

Encrypted in transit. Wiped on the desktop. Stored encrypted on your phone.

System requirements

Runs on what you already have.

Platform CPU GPU Build
Linux x86_64 Vulkan 1.2 AppImage, .deb, .rpm
Windows x86_64 Vulkan 1.2 MSI installer (x64)
macOS Apple Silicon / Intel Metal Coming soon
RAM: 8 GB minimum, 16 GB recommended. Disk: ~10 GB. Network: phone and desktop on the same LAN.

Privacy posture

Nothing leaves the device unless you ask for it. The Bridge uses a Noise IK handshake on the LAN — the phone is the initiator, so the desktop's long-term key never lands in a forwarding channel. Image generation runs locally; the desktop overwrites the temp PNG before deleting it.

Open source

Tacita Desktop is licensed under MIT. Releases are signed-checksum builds published on gettacita.com. Audit the binary, build it yourself, fork it. It's yours.
